Ciara ft. Chris Brown - Turntables

Regardless of the whole situation with Chris Brown, a song by him and Ciara has leaked and I love it! It's called "Turntables", and it's rediculously catchy.

David Guetta - Baby When the Light

Speaking of David Guetta, I'd like to have a throw back to his song "Baby When the Light". Man this song got me pumped in the summer, and once again, it's doing its job! Love me some David Guetta.

miss usa pageant never fails to stir controversy

Well, obviously we (or at least Americans) still have a ways to go in terms of human rights and discrimination.

must see tv

I've just gotta say, if you have not been watching, or even seen the show Dollhouse, you NEED to check it out. The only reason I began watching it was because it's created by Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (my all time favorite show in the history of life!), and Eliza Dushku stars as the main character Echo.

Also, for a good laugh, you really need to check out Samantha Who. Hilarious show!

there's always gonna be another mountain, i'm always gonna want to make it move

(Sorry, I just HAD to use this photo. Too funny)

I usually hate everything Miley Cyrus related, but I have to admit, the song "The Climb" is damn good. It's a nice, juicy, perfectly manufactured pop ballad.

why do you tell me only things I want to hear

This song is a few years old, but man, is it a good one. It's always so great when something reminds you of a song you used to love but have forgotten about, or you find yourself searching through your music library and you come across a gem from summers past.

Well, this is one of those gems. Gabriel & Dresden's "Tracking Treasure Down" is so wonderful. I don't even know how to describe it. Usually, for me, songs being transferred onto my Ipod go into one of two playlists: Fast Mix or Slow Mix. What can I say, I'm a simple guy. Anyways, I don't think I'd be able to classify this song as either. It's just such a cool, mellow house track. So give it a listen below, I'm sure you will be pleased.

so sad...

"Afghans protest new marriage law, pelted with stones"
CTV.ca News Staff

A 300-strong group of Afghan women were pelted with small stones Wednesday as they protested against a controversial law that legalizes rape within marriage.

A much larger group of about 1,000 Afghans -- both men and women -- swarmed the demonstration to throw stones and shout at the women.

Police struggled to keep the two groups from clashing and even formed a human chain around the anti-marriage law demonstrators.

The so-called Shia Family Law allows a husband to demand sex from his wife every four days unless she is ill or would be harmed by the act.

Critics say the law, passed by Afghanistan's national assembly last month, essentially legalizes marital rape.

It also confines women to the home unless they have a male escort.

The law has sparked outrage among Western nations, including Canada, which forced President Karzai to issue a statement saying that he has ordered a review of the legislation.

If made official, the law would only apply to the Shiites living in Afghanistan -- about 10 to 20 per cent of the country's 30 million people.

Shiite supporters say foreigners are becoming too involved in the private affairs of Afghans.
On Wednesday, the counter-protesters shouted "Death to the slaves of the Christians!" at the demonstrators.

"You are a dog! You are not a Shiite woman!" one man shouted to a young woman protester.
The woman, holding a banner that said "We don't want Taliban law," did not shout back.

"This is my land and my people," she said.

Fourteen-year-old Masuma Hasani said her whole family had joined the protest against the law.
"I am concerned about my future with this law," she said. "We want our rights. We don't want women to just be used."

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Mariam Sajadi said foreigners were the "enemy of Afghanistan."
Sajadi, engaged to be married, said she plans to follow the law and ask her husband's permission to leave the house.

She said the parts of the law dealing with sexual relations between husband and wife have been misinterpreted by Westerners.

if you want me don't be so shy, just say it

Let's get this straight. I LOVE brit-pop. If I could have been born anywhere in the world, musically speaking, it would be in the UK.
They're all about pop and dance music over there, and the song Say It by Booty Luv (I know, ridiculous name, but whatever!) is a great example of European pop music at its finest.

lookin' good is NOT easy.

A couple of weeks ago I had mentioned that I wanted to get fit and that I had started this new fitness program I found online. I struggled at first to stay on task, but I've definitely been keeping up! It's really becoming clear to me how you're only young for such a short time, and I figured I'd really like to be the best (healthy and fit wise) that I can be during this time.

Anyways, I just wanted to update on that and let you guys know I'm still keepin' at it, and also to suggest that you should definitely give the One Hundred Pushup and Two Hundred Situp Challenge a try, and let me know how it goes!

Now THIS is insane.

it's too late...

I've had these two videos stashed in my Favorites for a while, and I thought I might as well share them. They're both covers of One Republic's "Apologize". They're a bit different, but I like them. Hope you like!

let's slow things down

If you're looking for a chill song to maybe snuggle up with a good book or to literally just sit and cry to, hears a good one. She's got a similar voice to Natasha Bedingfield, and it's beautiful.

i'm so excited, somewhat.

I'm at odds with whether or not I like this song. Help me decide?
